A stone fireplace is the focal point of the cozy sunken dining room, where the French rotisserie turns and the wood-fired oven is stoked during the winter months. Wood beams above, hardwood floors below and banks of windows fitted decorative stained glass panels create a warm and inviting space, whatever the time of day.

The dining room accommodates 60 seated or 100 standing guests, and is accessible for those with disabilities. Equipped with wireless internet, and screen and sound system capability, it can be transformed to meet a wide range of numbers and needs.

The warm glow from Meriwether's historic bar beckons guests as they enter the restaurant.  Above the original bar, elegantly refurbished and finished with a granite top in 2004, hangs the sign from L'Auberge, the Portland institution that Meriwether's replaced after its long and successful run as a gathering place for several generations of Portlanders. Banquettes with tables and comfortable handcrafted wood booths seat 50 guests. A rustic flagstone fireplace and historic artwork complete the welcoming space.  Guests can enjoy selections from the seasonal kitchen available on the bar menu accompanied by selections handpicked from the offerings of renowned winemakers, distillers and brewers.

Perfect for events throughout the year, the sunken outdoor patio has a clear cover that lets the sunshine in and keeps the rain out.  Between June and October, the patio is open to lavender and rose-scented gardens.  From November until May, the space is enclosed and heated for comfort while preserving the view of the surrounding trees, decorative bird houses, shrubs and perennial beds, brimming with spring ferns and hellebore.  Black iron tables that seat 50 guests ring an impressive European fountain in the center.

The patio is equipped with wireless internet, and screen and sound systems are available.

MEANDERING CIRCULAR GARDEN

At the center of the open, circular garden area is a stone walkway lined with flowering shrubs and perennials.  Spring brings Golden Japanese forest grass, lilacs and peonies, which give way to summer's hydrangeas and roses, lavender and Lady's mantle.  Black iron tables seating 16 guests are scattered amongst mature trees with handmade birdhouses and stone urns planted with seasonal flowers. Standing, the circular garden accommodates 50 guests.

As with all of Meriwether's outdoor venues, wireless internet, and screen and sound systems are available in the garden.

The intimate gazebo has a gas fire pit and circular copper-topped bar in the middle and copper roof overhead. Open on all sides during the warmer months, the space can be enclosed in fall & spring, to keep out the elements and provide shelter without obscuring the view.  Listen to the music of rain on the copper roof while looking out on the large trees, handmade birdhouses and beautifully kept annual and perennial gardens.  The gazebo accommodates 15 guests on high-backed black iron stools or 25 standing.
